Afik Co. marks the day of demise of Scottish city planner and biologist Sir Patrick Geddes FRSE (2 October 1854 – 17 April 1932) who, among other things, created in 1919 the master plan for the city of Jerusalem and later the Geddes Plan - the first master plan for the city of Tel Aviv, which was presented in the 1925 and created what is now known as the central Tel Aviv area and the "Old North" area.
