"We decide:
- Order the closure of the military broadcasting station "Army Radio" (hereinafter - "the station") and the cessation of its broadcasts. The station's broadcasts will be suspended, at the latest, until March 1,2026. With the cessation of the station's broadcasts, the allocation of the radio frequencies that were used to distribute the broadcasts that were discontinued will expire.
- To instruct the Minister of Defense to establish a professional team within the Ministry of Defense that will act to implement this decision (hereinafter: the "Implementation Team"). As part of its activity, the team will deal with all aspects relating to the termination of the station's activity, as well as examining the manner in which the Galgalatz station will continue to operate, while preserving its character and character.
- Authorize the Minister of Defense to make any decision regarding the Galgalatz radio station in accordance with the conclusions of the implementation team.
- Register the announcement by the Minister of Defense that the implementation team will act, inter alia, in order to assist civilians who work in the IDF, the station's employees, to terminate their employment at the station in the most appropriate arrangements possible and in accordance with any law."
The petitions before us
- On December 24,2025-December 22,2025, the petitions in the heading were filed against the government's decision to close the station, in which it was also requested to issue an interim order ordering a stay of the decision until the petitions are decided. The petition in the High Court of Justice 61683-12-25 was filed by the Movement for Quality Government of Israel (hereinafter and hereinafter: the Petition of the Movement for Quality Government); the petition in the High Court of Justice 62344-12-25 was filed by the Academy for a Democratic Israel, 25 media professionals who served in the past as commanders or employees of the station, and by Mr. Eyal Eshel, the father of the late Ronnie Eshel, who fell in battle at the Nahal Oz post on October 7,2023; the petition in the High Court of Justice 62412-12-25 submitted by the Association of Journalists in Israel; The petition in the High Court of Justice 65304-12-25 was filed by the Press and Media Council in Israel; and the petition in the High Court of Justice 69557-12-25 was filed by the Galei Tzahal Workers' Committee (hereinafter: the Galatz Workers' Committee Petition).
On December 28,2025, this court's decision was given (the President Y. Amit) in which it was determined that the aforementioned petitions would be set for hearing and heard consolidated, and an interim order was issued ordering a stay of the decision with all that it entails, until another decision is made.
