Afik & Co. commemorates the date of birth of the first computer programmer, the English mathematician and writer Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace (December 10, 1815 – November 27, 1852). She wrote a program for the Analytical Engine, a mechanical computer invented by Charles Babbage that was never actually built. Her notes on the engine include what is recognized as the very first algorithm.
