Mr. Attias returned to his place of residence in London, and after speaking with Rabbi Noy, he called the Goren Discussion Center and spoke with him for three weeks.  Between me and me, Mr. Attias testified that he consulted "a friend who is a mediator" (p.  867, question 16) as well as "another friend of mine, who is a lawyer" (ibid., question 18; Ibid., p.  869, paras.  7-9; p.  870, paras.  1-2), and "I spoke with the principal, in my opinion" (p.  868, paras.  10).  When asked why he did not check the nature of the rights with the parties with whom he consulted, he replied, "I did my examinations at this time to my understanding" (p.  868, para.  19).  However, he claimed that in retrospect it became clear to him that "these tests were not professional" (ibid., para.  25).  Only after all this did Mr. Attias, together with his mother-in-law, decide to purchase the aforementioned plots of land.

In the contract signed between Mr. Attias and defendant 4, it was explicitly stated that defendant 4 was the owner of the lease rights from the manager.  Clause 5 of the contract further states that the purchaser is aware that the property is agricultural land leased from the Administrator and that he is purchasing the land on the basis of independent examinations and considerations and not on the basis of any representation on the part of the seller, "including the chances of a compromise if at all and/or its consequences, after he has carried out all the consultations that he deems necessary with any entity and/or authority, including any professional, including legal consultation with an attorney, and he will not have any claim of any kind or kind against the transaction and/or the property and/or the seller and/or attorney Alon Goren...  The buyer confirms that he has been given the opportunity to hire the services of a lawyer to represent him in this transaction, and after consulting with anyone he deems fit to have chosen to represent himself in this transaction and accepts full responsibility of his own free will...".
