Investigators' arrival at the scene, the beginning of the investigation and findings at the scene

  1. The two paramedics who were called to the scene first arrived at the scene, namely, Tal Shachar and Muhammad Shibli. They both found the deceased facing the floor.  Yes, the electric bike was between his legs.  They noticed a head injury and noted that the deceased had not communicated with them (see exhibits P/193 and P/194 submitted with consent).
  2. As mentioned above, the incident was initially reported as a road accident. Yes, police officers Khalil Ali (who edited exhibit P/1, submitted with consent) and Ashmoz Rodin (who edited exhibit P/2, submitted with consent) arrived at the scene.  As they both stated in their reports, when they arrived at the scene, they noticed an MDA patrol car, which was already at the scene and the injured man was inside the vehicle.  The police wrote down the investigative actions they carried out at the time.  They interrogated people who had gathered at the scene of the incident and scanned for security cameras in the area.  Furthermore, as it appears that one of the civilians who goes by the name Israel Madar said that he had contacted his brother Yusef Madar and asked about the details of the incident, and the latter told him that boys had told him that someone had been attacked.  The policeman added that apart from that, all those who were in the vicinity thought it was an incident that originated in a car accident.
  3. At a certain point, at 01:29, a report was received from Dr. Segal from the hospital in Afula (see P/6), from which it emerged that during the treatment of the injured man, it was clarified that this was a stabbing incident and not a road accident. As a result, the status of the investigation was changed, and investigators from the Northern District Attorney's Office arrived at the scene.  (See P/34 by Superintendent Adv. Hodaya Zeno Amsalem, "An Addendum to the Circumstances of the Case").

Yes, a mobile forensic laboratory arrived at the scene of the incident.  It is clear that, when they arrived at the scene, the body of the deceased was no longer there.  In this context, reference can be made to Exhibit A/7 prepared by Policeman Meir Dahan, from which it appears that when he arrived at the scene of the incident, he searched the scene and in the meantime the defendant's mother, who was in a panic, arrived, screaming and looking for her son.  The policeman reassured her and then asked her about the presence of security cameras in her home.
