Enforcement activity commences for the obligation to appoint a DPO and other obligations under Amendment 13

On December 10, 2025, the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority announced that it has initiated proactive supervision proceedings regarding the obligations established by Amendment 13 to the Privacy Protection Law, including the obligation to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO) in organizations. The Authority stated that it will begin by examining the following sectors: local authorities, e-commerce companies, widely used applications, genetic testing institutes, and after-school childcare facilities.
