On April 29, 2026, an extension order was published applying to all employees and employers in Israel, except for employees and employers in the public sector (to whom a separate collective agreement dated March 26, 2026, applies).  Among the provisions in the order: protection for reservists from dismissal and being placed on unpaid leave for 60 days from the end of their service, additional paid leave days for the spouses of reservists, a prohibition on harming the employment conditions of a reservist during the protected period and the right to accumulate annual leave days that were not utilized due to the emergency circumstances, even without the employer's consent.  The eligibility applies upon the declaration of a special situation, reserve service of at least 10 consecutive days, or work in an essential enterprise. A supervisory committee will decide on disputes regarding dismissals or unpaid leave.
