A supermarket chain made a series of violations of the Consumer Protection Act requiring marking of products prices identical to that charged at the cashier.  The chain was fined and it appealed to the Court.

The Court rejected the appeal and held that pursuant to the amendment that came into effect recently failure to duly mark the price on products or price differences empowers the Authority of Consumer Protection and Fair Trade to impose substantial financial sanctions in the amount of up to ILS 22,000 per violation in the event of failure to mark prices and up to ILS 45,000 per violation of price differences.
