On January 6, 2014, the Israeli Knesset passed Amendment No. 10 to the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Law, which forbids the publication of a photograph, film or recording of a person (under the circumstances, the person) who focuses on his sexuality can be identified in circumstances where the publication may humiliate or degrade him. At the same time, the amendment provides that the advertiser shall have good defense, in criminal or civil law, if the publication was done in good faith; For a kosher purpose; The publication has a public interest that justifies the publication, provided that the publication of a truth or an expression of opinion or criticism of a public official in connection with his position and publicity did not deviate from the reasonable reason for achieving his purpose.
A person who contravenes the provisions of Amendment No. 10 shall be deemed to be intentionally harming the privacy of another person under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, which establishes a term of imprisonment of five years.
