A class action was filed against IKEA contending that it does not comply with the duty under Israeli law to supply Hebrew assembly instructions as their assembly instructions are based on illustrations and drawings only.

The Supreme Court rejected the motion and held that if assembly instructions in a non-Hebrew language exist, such need be translated to Hebrew.  The obligation to translate to Hebrew exists only if non-Hebrew instructions exist but if the assembly instructions are by way of illustrations and drawings, there is no obligation to "produce" assembly instructions in Hebrew.
