(In detail, pages 1930-1932).

  1. In the margins, it should be noted – with regard to cadmium – that Dr. Shlita in his testimony explicitly emphasized, inter alia, that "...I also told you earlier, that cadmium is not with it, it does not have a large addition of radicals and its damage is in other mechanisms....No, no, I never said that cadmium is harmful with radicals... Here with radicals, there is none" (p. 166) (see also his testimony on pp. 168-169).
  2. Regarding Prof. Grotto's recommendations that appear in the position paper (Appendix 1), Prof. Rennert replied that:

Q:      So you agree with the conclusions of Grotto's report, page 38.  [...]

Q:      Epidemiological studies in the Haifa district have found a link between industrial air pollution and living near roads, fuel tanks and non-containment air pollution and cancer morbidity among the elderly.  It's not just lung cancer, it's 16 out of 18 cancers.

A:      The answer is a complete disagreement

Q:      Okay.

A:      This is based on 10 articles that I have read all of them.  I don't know if you've read them

Q:      I don't

A:      that all of them are in the literature of the Gimal League, none of which have entered the document of IARC, because none of them met the quality standard of Professor Portnoy who invented some delusional doctrine about which two articles have been written in the world, apart from him.  Once again, we're working on a vacuum, you can't work like that.  There are accepted methods in the world, you have to answer questions in ways that are accepted in the world and on the kipak.  Understand, don't you, I wish...

Q:      Everyone is delusional.

A:      I wish it were like that, because then I would have known that I was cutting something off and knocking out the lung disease, it's just not like that.  So lung morbidity doesn't go down, right? With all the improvement.  [...]

A:      All I am saying is that each of us wants to know exactly what is causing it, but the fact is that even after the improvement and all the indicators that you have shown, etc., lung cancer does not go down, unfortunately even increases.  Not necessarily in Haifa, all over the world, all over Israel, And that, unfortunately, is probably not the cardinal reason.  Is there a contributing reason? Maybe.  To measure weights is a different kind of discussion.  But it's not as she shouts, it's not the giant carcinogenic Haifa with 18 types of excess cancer, and it's all caused by industry.  Yes, there is objective data that you stand with, and you continue to wonder, because how can it be that more people die from bowel cancer and not more from bowel cancer? What happened here? What are we so successful at healing? So there are a lot of internal conflicts.  But I can't force the information, and certainly not the causation, to show that A caused B.  Because it's not.
