Adv. Dr. Tal Rotman:          OK, I'll ask a slightly different question and we'll move forward.  You told us that as part of your survey you did not examine or ask people about the amount of their exposure to publications about air pollution.

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         True

Adv. Dr. Tal Rotman:          Right?

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         True

Adv. Dr. Tal Rotman:          But you could have asked them.

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         True

                                   [....]

Adv. Dr. Tal Rotman:  And I ask you a question, really a very simple question, could you ask to what extent you were exposed to publications on the subject of air pollution, could you ask?

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo: Of course, I told you

(In detail, pp. 1181-1183).

Prof. Lahad was also asked  in this context, and in relation to the air pollution event that occurred during the survey period, and answered:

Adv. Mr. Amos Goren:        So there is, you agree with me that such an incident of fire and media blitz that happened to him in the very two or three weeks before your poll was conducted, There is potential for a serious impact on the anxiety of Haifa residents, which is reflected in a survey you conducted?

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         Except for the word serious, I agree with you

                                   [....]

Adv. Mr. Amos Goren:        I'm telling you too, I'm also telling you that in those days, and before you prepared the survey, a class action lawsuit was filed against Bazan for that fire, about the psychological effects of that fire.

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:            Maybe, I'm not aware of it

(in detail, pp. 1097-1099) [see also 40/69 and 60].

  1. Lahad was also asked about the possible impact of exposure to the media on the results of the survey and answered:

Adv. Dr. Tal Rotman:          And you could also ask him if you were exposed to a few such publications, medium or a lot of publications, you could have asked him?

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         I could.
