The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         Presumably, we didn't.  We would write it down, we would write it down.

(pp. 1199-1200).

  1. Lahad was even asked and answered on this subject as follows:

Adv. Mr. Amos Goren:        You agree that findings about behavioral and mental responses are influenced by many variables, such as socioeconomic status?

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         Yes

Adv. Mr. Amos Goren:        Occupation, Social Support, Cultural and Economic Influences, Screens?

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         Yes

[...]

Adv. Mr. Amos Goren:        First, in order to break it down, I asked about socio-economic.  Have you done any analysis of the results to identify and neutralize the impact of socio-economic factors?

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         No, but since I'm doing research that is a representative sample, I assume that it balances itself out, but I suggest you ask Dr. Dima Leikin these specific details.

Adv. Mr. Amos Goren:        Ask him if it can have an effect?

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         No, if it has an effect, we know it can have an effect.  But is it neutralized in a study where you have a group and a control group and from the same sample that spends on similar data, that's the main thing.

[....]

Adv. Mr. Amos Goren:       And are you concerned in terms of other factors that are influencing, not just the socioeconomic situation?  Occupying.  LENGTH OF RESIDENCE, GENERAL BELIEFS ABOUT SELF EFFICACY All the other factors that McGee writes about here, do you know about them whether the adjustment was made, the appropriate neutralization in your survey, or do you not know?

The witness, Prof. M.  Echo:         On demographic issues, I suggest that you ask Dr. Lykin in depth.  On the topics you suggested, SELF EFFICACY, this is not demographic information, it is specific questionnaires that are given to people to see how effective they feel.  We didn't ask that.  That was not the essence of our questionnaire.

(pp. 1140-1142) (and also on page 1144) [see also 40/74].

  1. Lykin confirmed in his interrogation on this point that:

Adv. Dr. Tal Rotman:          I ask you if this is true, Is it true that the state of education data and socioeconomic status may affect the public's perceptions of the factors that threaten them??
