Akamai is in the midst of a comprehensive strategic move designed to adapt its operations to changing business needs and strengthen its position as a leader in the fields of cybersecurity and cloud computing. The Security Technologies Group (STG) is responsible for protecting the company's customers from cyberattacks, through advanced monitoring solutions, alerts, and managed services. The Group's activities are carried out in three business units, including the Application & API Security unit, which protects applications and APIs from fraud and abuse. In the second quarter of 2024 , Akamai acquired Noname as part of the same unit, with the aim of expanding its APIs protection capabilities - an area that has become a major target for attacks due to the increasing use of these interfaces in organizations. The position is considered unique in the company, as it is the only one in the AppSec organization that simultaneously leads the product and development fields. This consideration is intended to optimize the management structure and improve the operational efficiency of the unit. If the change is made, the responsibilities of the position will be regulated and divided among existing entities in the unit, the responsibilities that were carried out within the framework of this role will be absorbed within the existing structure with Senior Director, Product Management continuing to lead the strategy and product area, and VP Engineering continuing to lead the engineering and delivery activities- This role is not expected to be refilled. In light of the above consideration and alongside the need for efficiency, the company believes that there is no longer justification for the existence of an additional management layer. If it is decided to do so, your position will be canceled and redundant, and the company is considering terminating your employment..."
