Conclusion
We convict the defendant of the offense of murder in aggravated circumstances - under section 301a(a)(1) together with section 29 of the Penal Law, of the offense of injury under aggravated circumstances - under sections 334 + 335(a)(1) and (2) together with section 29 of the Penal Law, and of the offense of obstruction of justice - under section 244 together with section 29 of the Penal Law, and acquit him of the other offenses of which he was accused.

During the course of the proceedings in this case, during a long series of hearings, the defense raised harsh allegations against the accuser's representatives, and in particular against Attorney Shelly Zeevi, who until recently was a member of the staff of senior attorneys in the Haifa District Attorney's Office. These allegations included accusations of bad faith in the conduct of the proceedings and in accompanying the investigation, attempts to conceal evidence from the defense, and even attempts to distort the proceedings by biasing the investigation, directing it in a tendentious manner, and other acts intended to prevent the court from doing its job faithfully - to bring the truth to light.
We have commented more than once to the defense team that we are uncomfortable with these unbridled attacks directed at a public servant who has been fulfilling her role with honesty, dedication and fairness for many years.
At times, our comments led the defense to restrain things; More than once, despite the comments, things came up again and again and again.
We are now at the stage where we have made substantive decisions in the case; We have determined what the truth is based on our legal understanding and after a thorough study of the evidence and arguments.
We can say, without hesitation, that the prosecution team did its job faithfully, fulfilled the duties of fairness imposed on it as "officers of the court" for cause and cause and assisted in the court's task of bringing the truth to light.
We thank both the prosecution team and the defense team for the thorough and in-depth work carried out by each of them according to their understanding and in accordance with the interests entrusted to them in real time.
