Head of the Southern Mobile Laboratory Branch for Investigations, Superintendent Yoav Barkan, A.T.28
- An expert opinion prepared by the witness was submitted, dated December 7, 2021 (P/69); an accompanying photographic disc (P/69A. containing 681 photographs, 15 of which are an integral part of the affidavit); a supplementary opinion, dated (P/69B); a report on the seizure of exhibits relating to the transfer of a shirt (P/13A); a report on the seizure of exhibits without a shirt (P/13B); a report on the seizure of exhibits relating to cigarette butts (P/13C-E); a report on the seizure of exhibits (4 swabs with a swab) from the street (P/14); a disk of photographs made by the witness (P/14A).
As stated, the witness is a forensic investigator and the head of the mobile laboratory in the southern branch. The opinion of the witness is concerned with the analysis of the blood stains at the scene, and its conclusion that "there is a high degree of corroboration that the suspect attacked the deceased in the western corridor, in the kitchen foyer and in the utility room, with the deceased in contact with the wall alternately and the suspect raising his hand and stabbing the deceased." The witness examined the various scenes, from the street, through the house, to the yard. According to the opinion, various forensic stains were examined, including spray stains, dripping, transfer, and stains in discarding configurations, 42 samples were sampled, the suspect's blood discharge configurations were examined in relation to the deceased's blood transfer stains, in the various areas, and all of these were immortalized in detailed photographs.
In the experience of moving the place of the supplementary hearing, which was held at the request of the plaintiff, clarifications were given regarding the conclusions that arise from the various photographs. Emphasis was placed on the composition of the blood stains, their direction, and the conclusions drawn therefrom, in relation to the source of the blood - in the deceased or in the suspect. This concluded with the conclusion: "Based on the repetition of the pattern of the transfer stain and the splashing/throwing stains, in a large part of the cases to the right of the transfer stain, in various places in the apartment, the victim's injuries (more than 120 stabbings, a large part of them in the left part), and the suspect's injuries (cuts to the right hand), I conclude that there is a high degree of correlation because the suspect attacked the deceased in the western corridor, in the kitchen foyer and in the service room, with the deceased in contact with the wall alternately (transfer stains), his blood (the deceased's) splashing on the walls/floor (spray stains/stains in the form of a projectile) and the suspect waving his hand and stabbing the deceased (stains in the form of a projection)" (emphasis added).
