Zelkovnik also testified on line 7 on page 94 in response to the question of why he did not stop the engagement with Zahavi until his last day in office, because: "Termination of the engagement is not something we wanted."
In addition, Zelkovnik testified that the defendant made efforts - in an unprecedented manner - to bring Zahavi back on the air, a fact that in my view reinforces the fact that it was in the defendant's interest to return him to the air and not to cancel the agreement with him. Thus in lines 21-26 on page 88:
"I don't remember in my 8 years on the most colorful radio in Israel, a radio broadcast by Ben Caspit and Guy Peleg and interesting opinionated people, senior and prominent journalists with a clear voice, I don't remember such a situation of a station that everyone gathers together and does everything in its power to bring Natan back, I don't remember such an event."
And also, Zelkovnik testified, directly regarding the issue of canceling the agreement, from line 30 on page 92 to line 5 on page 93:
"Adv. Epstein: Why didn't you finish the contract? Why didn't you finish the contract? Leave what I'm writing to you that the actual contract ends, leave everything, why didn't you finish the contract, because in order to put together your entire thesis, that Zahavi is very important to you, and Zahavi is good for you for the radio under certain conditions and under other conditions, you don't restrain yourself, why didn't you tell him, Mr. Zahavi, thank you very much for 25 years, thank you very much for the moves, let's finish, yes, broadcast in two weeks, no.
