- Shteif explained that during the meeting, Chani shared with her the difficult divorce process she was going through with Naveh, and told her that she was afraid that Naveh was hiding property from her. Later, Chani told her about the mobile phones that were used by Naveh and which are located in their joint home, as well as about her desire to extract information from the phones that would help her in the divorce process, as follows:
"At this point she tells me about her phones, she tells me that she has a number of phones, I don't remember how many there were... She says that these were secondary phones that Effie used to have, such as he changed news frequently, every 3-4 months, they bought them with their own money and he gave them to her so that she could let the girls play with them. These phones were thrown away in a drawer at home. When the divorce story began and she was financially abused, she remembered the phones that had been in the drawer for years and gave them to her nephew to sell because he told her that she could get a thousand shekels for one, when the airport affair broke out she realized that it was possible that in these phones she would find the assets that she thought Effi was trying to smuggle out of her, since she had received all kinds of testimonies from her friends about other women they knew, she thought there must be other women so she took the phones from her nephew and went to the lab in Tel Aviv and gave the phones and asked to open them and see what was in them, leaving the phones and leaving. I can't say at what point in time she said they couldn't open the phones and she said they were probably unprofessional."

- According to Shteif, Hani asked her if she knew a private investigator who could open the phones. Shteif replied that she didn't know him, but "I have friends, I work with investigation agencies and lawyers... I said I'd check. I make two phone calls to her, one of them to a private investigator in the Netanya area, a good friend of mine and he doesn't answer me. So I call another friend, an investigation agency in Tel Aviv, he's a good friend of mine... He told me to bring me the phones and see what we can do. So I look at Yuli who is busy with his phone and I call him to us, I tell Chani that he's a good friend of mine, maybe he knows or knows, Chani tells him what the story is about the phones and he tells her Yuli as Yuli where the phones are, she gives him the address and he tells her I don't have time right now, I'll send a messenger to bring the phones to me" (par. p. 162, paras. 8-16).
- Yuli also explained that he had met with Shteif at a café in Mandarin, "about a good friend, an officer on duty in the police who is being sexually harassed by one of the officers in the district, and I knew that Hadas knew the commander of the specific district, so I wanted to sit with Hadas" (par. p. 317, paras. 25-26). At a certain point, Hani arrived at the scene for a meeting with Shteif. The two moved to sit at a separate table and after having a conversation between them, they called Yuli to join them (par. p. 318, paras. 12-16). Yuli described the conversation with Chani as follows:
"A. When I came to their table she said that she needed help with phones, to open them, she was in the process of divorcing with Effie, if I could open them she was looking for women, cheating and money.
- After Chani tells you about the phones, does she tell you where they are?
- Yes, they were in the lab that in retrospect I know whose own, a guy named Moti Golan.
- She says they were in the lab.
- She says they didn't manage to open them there, she said that before that she put them in a relative's lab, a cell phone store, but in the end they were at Moti Golan's and from there they were picked up with my courier, I think a day or two later and he brought them to me."
