Main Inquiry
- The witness met the defendant in 2015. He was in an abnormal financial and mental state after his partner and the mother of his children left the house, and his children's kindergarten teacher connected him with the defendant who offered her help. A few days later, the defendant offered him to move to a villa until he rented an apartment (p. 559). The witness and his children lived with the defendant for a long time, during which the defendant helped him financially, helped him with welfare and looked for a job for him. About a year later, the defendant searched for an apartment for him, paid an advance for him and was even a guarantor for the apartment. During the period they lived with her, she used to bring food to his children. Even at the time of his testimony, the defendant and the witness were very close and in good contact, and thanks to her, his children remained in his custody (p. 560).
Cross-examination
- The witness testified that he lived in the motel without payment for about a year and did not have a lease (p. 561). In his estimation, between the months of June 2015 and February 2016 (p. 563). In the year in which he lived in the motel, the witness lived only in the basement unit (p. 564). To the claim that on those dates other tenants lived in the basement, he replied: "I don't remember dates, but I remember my routine" (p. 565).
- After he rented an apartment in Ramat Eliyahu in Rishon LeZion, and while he was waiting to buy furniture, the witness lived on the second floor of the motel. When he stated that he had previously lived only in the basement, he replied that he had lived in the motel twice (p. 566). According to him, the second time was for a short period of time, for the purpose of getting organized, after he left the basement in 2016. Later he mentioned "something 2017" (p. 567). When it was claimed that in 2017 he had already rented, he replied that he did not remember dates (p. 567). He does not remember when he reported to welfare that he had rented (p. 568).
