According to him, the incident continued from the time they met the deceased around 2:30 a.m. until 05:30-06:00, because "it took a long time for [defendant 1] to finish the person, and until we had to buy the gasoline, and until we had to go back so that [defendant 1] could start the car..." To the question of what it means that it took time to finish the deceased, he replied, "That [Defendant 1] hit him in the head with the sock in the stone, he held the sock and gave it another one, and then he just turned to us, I held his hands out of fear that he shot me, he just [Defendant 1] hit him in the head a few times, and then [Defendant 1] took all kinds of things that he found on the floor, such as stones, punched him, kicked him, and that's all." To the question of how many blows he himself gave to the deceased, he replied, "I gave him three or four punches to the head, I did not know what I was doing, I acted out of fear that something would happen to me because he was armed"; and claimed that beyond that, he only assisted in carrying the deceased and putting him in the car (ibid., at paras. 154-167). Later, to the question of whether he had also kicked the deceased, defendant 2 replied that he had kicked him in the head once or twice; And to the question of why he does not tell his part in sequence, but only in answer to the questions, he replied that it is difficult for him to tell everything, because he does not believe that he did it and does not believe that it happened, and claimed that he told everything (ibid., pp. 171-181). When he was told that he held the deceased so that he could not defend himself and attacked him together with defendant 1 after prior planning, he replied "I held him because I was afraid he would kill us and I attacked him because I was afraid because I wanted to protect myself because I was stupid..."; Regarding the claim that the gun remained in the car so that they were not in any danger, and that he was an accomplice in the death of the deceased by holding it and beating him, he replied, "I was afraid if he was released, what would happen if he managed to get back in the car, take the gun, aim at us, shoot at us, and that's why I acted" (ibid. at paras. 189-190, 199-200).
