The action reports of the detectives who took part in the arrest of the suspects on August 29, 2022, show the following picture: A detective team positioned itself in a closed vehicle toward the Mitsubishi, assisted by trackers.  At around 7:15 p.m., the order was received to stop the passengers of the Mazda and the driver of the tow truck on which the Mitsubishi was loaded.  The detectives unloaded their vehicles, ran towards their destination and arrested all those involved.  The driver of the tow truck was 'Abdallah al-Khatib.  The driver of the Mazda was the defendant, Ayman Musrati.  Sitting next to him was his cousin Abd al-Hadi Musrati, and in the back seat was another cousin, Udai Musrati.  His detective, Parnas, searched the Mazda, in the presence of Ayman and Abd al-Hadi, and seized, among other things, the defendant's three phones.  In addition, he grabbed "various documents in the driver's seat door compartment" which he put in an envelope and marked with his name.  These documents are important, and we will return to them later.  A screwdriver, which was kept in the trunk, was also seized in the Mazda, as well as a black plastic bag containing two license plates numbered 14-725-34, i.e., the license plates that had been in place until a few minutes earlier were installed on the Mitsubishi, which was now standing on the trailer with the original plates numbered 31-864-39 [see Activity Reports P/92-P/97].

The driver of the tow truck, Abdallah al-Khatib, also a cousin of the accused, testified in court on behalf of the accuser, and it was evident that he was reluctant to testify.  The witness even confirmed, in response to questions from the defense attorneys, that he was afraid to come and testify, even though he said he did not experience a threat from any party.  In any event, with the consent of the parties, the witness's statement was submitted to the police, P/146C, from which the relevant details can be derived.  In the statement, Abdullah described his actions that day, since he left for work at 7:30 a.m.  According to the statement, at around 14:00-15:00, the defendant called him and invited him to a meal in Jaffa.  The witness replied that he was stuck with the tow truck on Route 6, and the defendant said that he would talk to him when he finished and that he would come to Jaffa for a meal.  Abdullah arrived in Jaffa at around 6:15 P.M.  and the defendant told him to come to Abu Kabir and talk to him, and in the conversation he directed him to a large parking lot near the Institute of Forensic Medicine.  The witness parked the tow truck in the parking lot, and then a guy unknown to him came and asked him to tow a car to Tira, and after a price was agreed upon, the Mitsubishi was loaded onto the tow truck.  At this point, the defendant arrived at the scene in a Mazda car, and the witness informed him that he was going to drive to Tira.  The defendant saw the witness loading the vehicle and left, and a short time later the arrest was made.
