The defense raised various and varied arguments regarding this evidence, which we will discuss in consolidation.

A large part of the defense's arguments in its summaries focused on the shoes that were identified by Shai Peleg.

In general, it was claimed that the shoes were apparently "implanted" at the site; that there was no clear justification for searching the shoes where they were allegedly found; that the Chevrolet did not stop at all on Stockholm Street; that the deviation of the Chevrolet vehicle from the main lane of travel does not correspond to the times when the shoes were allegedly buried; Cameras that filmed the Chevrolet were not properly dismantled and it is doubtful whether their products are acceptable; No security cameras were seized that should have documented the Chevrolet as it passed through the alleged route; that the unit did not yet have the data for the route, and that it is not at all clear under what circumstances Shai Peleg arrived at the place where the shoes were located.

Similarly, many and harshly, the defense argued about the coats that were found by a detective crew member who arrived at the scene, after Officer Anatoly Shklyar stopped at the scene and began the search.

The defense's arguments related to the way the coats were found, the manner in which information about the Chevrolet stopped at the scene was obtained, the chain on display, and the "contamination" of the coats by police officers who were also present at the scene of the murder.  In addition, the witness Oshri Abuksis claimed that he was the one who sent the detective team, and not Anatoly Shaklyar who invited them to the scene.  The defense pointed to additional contradictions between the statements of the police officers involved in locating the coats (see the defense's summaries, p.  168 ff.).

Beyond these arguments, the defense argued in its summary that the findings of the genetic profiles on both the coats and the shoes do not support the accuser's claim that the defendant committed the murder, and in fact strengthen the defense's version.  The arguments focused on three aspects:
