When he was shown the picture of Aviel Dadon, he chose not to look at it (p.  1943, testimony of Shai Peleg).

In this interrogation, the defendant told for the first time that he had traveled to Meron, to Rashbi's grave, where he had also been staying at the time of the murder, and to where he arrived in the family Toyota car (which is listed in a different appeal by his daughter Stav, who does not have a driver's license), which is used by all the members of his ex-wife Sigal's household, and which quite a few of them drive, including Sigal Avioz herself.  While in Meron, the defendant met a number of people, but did not remember their details, two of whom he remembered but refused to give their names before speaking with his lawyers.  The Toyota car, he said, was given to a young man to be returned to Sigal, near her home in Nesher.  The defendant knew this person "from the area", not necessarily "Neshar", and that person wanted to go to Nesher, so it was suggested that he take the Toyota car and bring it to the defendant's destination.  The defendant said that although he did not know that young man, "everyone" knew him personally.  Later, according to the version, the defendant spent the night in the company of another person, in the other person's car, drunk drinks (beers, whiskey and desertion "until he didn't know").  They celebrated the election results and talked "a little about the Torah." When asked about the car, he replied, "It's closed," and said he didn't understand cars.  In response to the investigator's questions, he added, "It was not private."

The next morning, an anonymous friend of Aviel Dadoun contacted him ("A friend of uh...  of this guy from this Eliel"), who arrived in Meron and returned the Chevrolet car that had been given to Aviel Dadon the day before.  When asked how he planned to return home, he replied, "Who told you that I planned to go home, I planned to spend the holiday there, I didn't plan, I won't come back..." In other words, he did not mention, even by a hint, Emil Rafalov, with whom he later claimed during his testimony, he planned to celebrate the holiday.  However, despite these statements, the defendant said in the same statement that he had nevertheless driven the Chevrolet back to the Krayot area, in view of two planned meetings, one with Rafi Abdayev and the other with Attorney Arnon Savyon.  He arrived at Rafi Abdiyev's work area, from which he asked to return the car to Eliran Sabag, so that the latter could repair defects that had been identified in the Chevrolet and had been promised in advance to fix them.  He transferred his personal bag to Rafi Abdayev's car, which gave him 10,000 ILS for payment to Attorney Arnon Savyon.  He also jumped him to the lawyer's office, who told him, at the end of the meeting, "I decide to send this with a manual messenger to the court [...] Send the next day on Thursday." After the meeting at the attorney's office, the defendant asked Murphy Abdeev to drop him off at "Shlomi" (Shlomo Peretz) "Shlomi with a red bicycle," where he dropped off with the bag.
