The terrorist organization works to encourage the independent activity of individuals and cells around the world, in the name of the idea of the Islamic State, in various ways, including through the model of inspiration.
In geographic areas where there are no official districts of the organization, such as in the territory of the State of Israel, the organization's operatives carry out terrorist activities based on their sense of identification with the organization's ideology and on the basis of the inspiration they received from it. This model has led to serious terrorist attacks around the world as well as in the territory of the State of Israel. These activists join the organization in various ways, including through the consumption of the organization's content on the Internet (publications, the organization's official magazine distributed weekly, propaganda activities, and more); by disseminating the organization's ideology in a way that encourages and expands the organization's activities; by means of a declaration of support for the organization, by taking an oath of allegiance to the leader of the organization (hereinafter: "a statement") or by declaring support for the organization and its ideological doctrine; and by carrying out an active activity inspired by the organization.
- The "Iron Sword" War that broke out on October 7, 2023, began with a bloody surprise attack on dozens of IDF settlements and bases in the area surrounding the Gaza Strip in the State of Israel. Terrorists from terrorist organizations in Gaza have systematically killed some 1,200 Israeli civilians, soldiers and policemen, and kidnapped more than 240 hostages in the Gaza Strip. All of this is in parallel with the firing of thousands of rockets at communities throughout the State of Israel, with the aim of harming the security of the state (hereinafter: "Iron Sword War").
