- Under these circumstances, and in order to obtain more information, Hani decided to try to extract information from the phones that Naveh had left in their home. This is what emerged from her testimony: "The messages I saw from Mr. (referring to an intern who was in contact with Nave-A.S.) There was the trigger that they simply gave me an idea to open the phones, before that I hadn't thought about it. I said I could open the phone and find a lot of materials, I knew about Bar and R., my nose made up forged documents for me and I said I had to open the mobile phones in order to find information, I had no doubt that I would find information related to women and property" (Par. p. 224, paras. 1-4). And also: " I was mainly interested in property, we negotiated and Effi refused to disclose documents and it was difficult for me to sign an agreement knowing that he was lying to me and deceiving me... I did not hesitate to use any means" (Par. p. 224, paras. 6-8).
- Hani explained that at the beginning of December 2018, after she decided to open the devices and extract information from them that could help her in the divorce process with Naveh, she contacted Mr. Moti Golan, the owner of the "Spy Shop" company. This company, according to Hani, "deals with information security and equipment for private investigators" (par. p. 222, paras. 15-16). According to her: "I came to him to the store and he was not there, I put the phones at the secretary's house and told him to talk to me. I put an old device of mine there that I had forgotten its old password and I wanted him to download me pictures and such. Moti called me in the evening and asked what those phones were and I said they were old phones, I didn't have their chargers either, I didn't mess with it, I said I would throw it at someone and he would bring me a USB flash drive with all the materials. He said he didn't deal with it and that I should come and get the phones" (par. p. 224, paras. 34-36, p. 225, paras. 1-4).
- In the meantime, an acquaintance was made between Hani and Steif through K.H. As will be described below.
Hani explained that "one day I was at a social event in the neighborhood, it was after the airport affair, one of the mothers came up to me and told me that my future sister-in-law (K.H. - A.S.) She told me that a good friend of hers had a long affair with Effie in the second half of 2017. I was very surprised and told her I wanted to talk to her, the mother connected us and K. told me what she knew about her friend's affair, R. with Effie and she sent me a lot of WhatsApp messages that prove Effie's affair and the conversation between Effie and R.K. that she needs an extension of time and to help her with things in the exam" (par. p. 223, paras. 24-29).
