A similar version arose from K.H.'s testimony before me. She explained: "... My sister-in-law's daughter was at school or kindergarten with their son or daughter (of the Naveh-A.S. couple), as soon as the affair was discovered in Bar-Katz, Chani told it to my sister-in-law and my sister-in-law called me and told me that Hani was crying, sad, I told her to tell her that she had nothing to do with it because it was not just her and there was many more. Then my sister-in-law told me that Chani wanted to talk to me and I told her there was no problem, Chani called me" (par. p. 208, paras. 27-31).
- K.H. contacted Channel 10 in order to publicize the relationship between Naveh and R.K. This is what emerged from K.H.'s testimony: "R.K. contacted me and wanted to go out with this information through Channel 10 or 13" (par. p. 210, s. 18) and also: "R. understood that my effi would not bring her the exams and she turned to me and asked me if I would go out with it? We had a meeting either on Channel 10 or 13, I don't remember the reporter's name, she passed on material to Channel 10 and I and then she asked that it not be published" (par. p. 208, paras. 18-20).
- Apparently, at this stage, K.H. contacted Shteif for the purpose of publicizing the intern's affair. This detail did not arise clearly from K.H.'s testimony, but the following factual picture emerges from the testimony of Chani and Steif: Chani explained that K.H. contacted Channel 10 "and wanted to bring them the materials (the correspondence between Naveh and R.K. A.S.) in order to publish Effi's relationship with R. ... They delayed and then she (K.H. A.S.) On her own initiative she turned to Hadas Shteif, she wanted Hadas to publish it" (Par. p. 225, paras. 11-13). Similar things arose from Shteif's testimony: "I am receiving information, there was a war of interns against Effi Naveh... They approached me and told me that there were materials that showed that Effi Naveh had sex with interns and in return he gave them all kinds of favors..." (Par. p. 159, paras. 7-9).
- Shteif explained that "in my conversation with K. ... it turned out that she was a very good friend of Chani... She told me that Chani had a full stomach, the airport affair was in her face, she recommended that I talk to Chani because Chani said she knew about other interns and other women" (Par. p. 160, paras. 19-21). Chani added that "... she (K.H. -A.S.) On her own initiative she turned to Hadas Shteif, she wanted Hadas to publish it so K. told Hadas that she knew me and we lived in the same neighborhood, Hadas asked K. for my phone and K. called me and I agreed to give her the phone number" (Par. p. 225, paras. 12-15).
- K.H. She confirmed that the acquaintance between Hani and Shteif was made through her: "One day I was in the bathroom and my phone fell into the toilet and Chani looked for me for a day or two and I didn't answer her because I didn't have a phone, I told her that I didn't have a phone, I think she told me well that you mentioned phones to me, I have Effie's phones, that's how the matter went, I told her if she wanted to go out with it and she told me yes and I think I mediated between Hadas and Chani. I think I asked Hani for permission to transfer her phone to Hadas if I am not mistaken" (Par. p. 209, paras. 2-6).
- According to Shteif, "a day or two" after her meeting with K.H., she called Chani, introduced herself, and they arranged to meet at a café at the Mandarin Hotel in Tel Aviv. According to her: "There was a short conversation... I introduced myself, it was a conversation of a few seconds and we arranged to meet... I told her that I was in Tel Aviv for a meeting and that I would talk to her" (Par. p. 160, paras. 24-30). Hani explained that "she (Shteif-A.S.) spoke to me on the phone and said that she was doing research on Effie and that she had received information that Effi had connections with interns that he was providing assistance and things related to the Bureau, and I wanted to hear" (Par. p. 225, paras. 21-22). According to Hani, "We didn't set a date, but the next day she texts me that she's in a mandarin in a café and I can come" (par. p. 225, paras. 27-28).
- On the day of the meeting, and before Chani's arrival, Shteif was already sitting in the café with Yuli.
Shteif explained that she and Yuli have known each other for many years. According to her, he is "a contact of mine for many years, he was very connected to the police and also had friends in the police, he wanted me to deal with a very difficult story of a police officer who was abused, he gave me the background to the abuse, he said that we had to help her" (par. 161, paras. 1-3).
