Immediately afterwards, the defendants left the forest, leaving the deceased in the car, and planning to return to the car a short time later and set fire to the deceased and the car.  The defendants left the forest and marched to a nearby gas station in order to obtain a flammable material that would be used to carry out the arson; On their way, they washed their hands in a puddle to hide the blood on their hands, and then they took off their blood-stained coats, hiding them among bushes on their path, all with the intention of concealing evidence and disrupting the course of justice.  At 04:19, the defendants were arrested at the Paz gas station in the Sderot industrial zone, and defendant 2 asked to buy a flashlight, but when he could not find a flashlight, he left the scene; Later, they stopped at the Tapuz gas station in the Sderot industrial zone, filled an empty tank with diesel fuel for 10 NIS, and bought a lighter.

Immediately afterwards, the defendants returned to the place where they had left the deceased in the forest, took the pistol containing a magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition from the vehicle, took NIS 15 from the deceased's wallet, a canister of pepper and tobacco gas that had fallen from his pocket, and the car keys.  Defendant 1 poured all the contents of the diesel tank on the body of the deceased and on the interior of the vehicle, and the defendants set fire to the deceased and the vehicle; The deceased's body went up in flames and the fire spread throughout the vehicle, and the defendants fled the scene, leaving the deceased burning inside the vehicle.

The defendants left the forest and arrived at the house of defendant 1, where they showered, changed their clothes and put the blood-stained clothes in garbage bags; Later, the defendants arrived near a playground on Hashita Street in Sderot, where Defendant 1 hid the gun among the bushes; They threw their clothes in garbage cans on the road and threw the keys to the deceased's car in a stream channel, all in order to conceal evidence and disrupt the proceedings of the trial.  A few hours after the murder, the defendants drove to a club in Rishon Lezion and celebrated at a Purim party on behalf of their workplace, during which they even smoked some of the drug they received from the deceased.
