The body of the deceased was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, where an autopsy was performed under the supervision of Dr. Ricardo Nachman. The main findings documented during the autopsy are detailed on page 7 of Dr. Nachman's opinion, centered on two bullet wounds. The first wound is in the chest on the left, with the passage canal oriented to the right, backward and slightly up. The canal passes through the heart, the vaginal arch and the right lung, and the bullet exit in the torso on the right. The second wound was located in the left waist, with the projectile's passage canal pointed to the right, backwards, and upwards, with the canal passing through the vagina, right renal and intestinal loops, and the bullet was in the subcutaneous in the right waist. Based on the findings of the autopsy, Dr. Nachman expressed his opinion that the deceased's death was most likely caused by a combined mechanism of cardiac shock and sub-volumetric shock, as a result of the passage of these two bullets through the torso and their damage to the heart, vagina, right lung and right kidney. The autopsy did not find any other traumatic or morbid findings that could have caused or contributed to the death [P/26 - Opinion].
To summarize this chapter, the findings of which are not in fact disputed, on August 26, 2022, a few minutes before 1:00 P.M., while the deceased was making his way north from Ben Gurion Street in Lod into the roundabout, the Toyota blocked his way and did not allow him to cross the roundabout. Two men dressed in black came out of the Toyota and fired at the driver's seat of the Hyundai at close range at least nine bullets, at least two of which hit the deceased's body, left chest and left hip, causing his fatal injury and pronounced him dead shortly afterwards in the hospital. The number of shooters and weapons, the number of shots fired, the close range, the direction of the shooting at the driver's seat and the location of the injuries on the driver's seat and on the body of the deceased clearly attest to the intention of the shooters to cause the death of the deceased, a topic that I will return to later in the legal discussion regarding the nature of the offense of manslaughter that was committed.
