The Defendant's Conduct During His Interrogations with the Police
From his arrest on 29 August 2022 until 6 October 2022, the defendant was interrogated under caution six times [in fact, the third and fourth interrogations were carried out consecutively on 14 September 2022, and they are documented in a joint transcript - H.T.]. I will say that throughout all the interrogations, despite the many opportunities given to him, the defendant refrained from providing any information regarding his actions on the day of the murder and on the day of his arrest, and claimed that he did not remember anything from those days, even though he was arrested and interrogated only a few days after the murder. The defendant was given many opportunities to give an alibi version, exculpatory details or any positive claims regarding his actions at the relevant times, and the defendant knowingly refrained from doing so. Moreover, the defendant was given opportunities to assist the interrogation, by providing handwriting samples or placing his finger on the telephone, evidence that could, according to his version, lead to the assassination of the suspicions against him, and the defendant refused to cooperate. Moreover, on a long list of issues, the defendant gave the investigators, in response to their questions, false and false information, as detailed below.
The first interrogation was given on 30 August 2022 at 02:12 by interrogator Sa'id Ibrahim [P/147 - statement, P/149 - transcript], in which the defendant denied any connection to the suspicions. He spoke about his place of residence and areas of occupation, and confirmed his possession of an iPhone phone with a 401 subscriber. Regarding the events of the day of his arrest, he was arrested with Abed and Odai in Abu Khalifa's Mazda car, which has been in use for several months, at some intersection in Tel Aviv, but he does not remember where he was stopped, and he claims that he did nothing there and arrived there by accident. He doesn't remember what he's done since that morning, when he met with Abed and Odai, where they went together, and when they decided to come to Tel Aviv and why.
