Defendant 1's first interrogation began on February 28, 2018 at 12:48 (P/1), he was first interrogated as an "open witness" witness by interrogator Nahum Malichi, described his actions that week and the relationship between him and the deceased, and claimed that the deceased had recently been troubled due to a debt to a person from the central region, and that he promised to try to help him financially. At a certain point, when he was asked when he had last met the deceased, he replied that on Sunday evening (25 February 2018) he came to the deceased's home together with his friend - Defendant 2 (whose name was mentioned by Defendant 1 at the beginning of the interrogation), and they discussed that the deceased wanted to get out of the world of drugs; When asked when they had last spoken on the phone, he replied that the deceased wanted to come to him on Sunday or Monday and asked him to help him with money, because they had spoken several times and had arranged to meet after the deceased finished working, and that the deceased had even sent him a message that he would come, but he did not come and did not answer the phone.
During the interrogation, at 1:47 P.M., Investigator Asher Hasson entered the room and informed Defendant 1 that he was a suspect in the murder (after receiving the report from the National Insurance Institute's Administrator Azrayev regarding the security cameras at the Paz gas station). Defendant 1 denied the suspicions against him, claimed that the deceased offered to sell him drugs and when he refused, he asked him to find a buyer because he needed the money because of the debt; He claimed that defendant 2 could confirm that he was with him, both on Sunday evening at a meeting at the deceased's house, after which he stayed to sleep with him, and on Monday evening when the deceased was supposed to come to him and did not come, and even then he stayed to sleep with him.
Following the statements of Defendant 1 during the interrogation, police officers came to the home of Defendant 2 to summon him for interrogation, but he was not present and later arrived at the station independently with his parents.
