The defendant also replies that he does not remember if he recently drove a Mitsubishi Outlander, if he was recently in Holon, Haifa or Lod, and he denies any connection to the claim that he came to Tel Aviv in order to pick up the Mitsubishi. He does not know the victim, and only heard about the murder when he was arrested. He does not remember the number 337, nor the Internet searches he used in relation to the murder. The plates seized in Mazda are not related to him, and he has never seen them before. He has nothing to do with following the victim to Holon, and even when he is given another opportunity to describe what he did on the day of the murder, the defendant does not remember. He once again refuses to write down the numbers 1-10 in his handwriting and repeatedly claims that he does not know the note that was shown to him in the previous interrogation. He is asked about Muhammad al-Khatib, and he replies that he is also a cousin and a neighbor, but he also does not know what he is doing, even though they see each other almost every day and "he is like a brother."
In summary, as can be seen, the defendant does not have any memory problem and remembers well and in detail all the facts and facts about which he was asked, except for those related to his actions on the day of the murder and on the day of the arrest, at which point he repeats again and again the claim that he remembers nothing, in relation to all the incriminating situations about which he was asked. It is evident that this is a conscious and calculated attempt not to provide a positive version, despite the repeated opportunities granted to him to give an alibi or any qualifying detail in relation to the relevant events and dates. Added to the list of lies is the claim that he did not hear about the murder until after his arrest, as well as the lack of knowledge about the fields of activity of Abdullah and Muhammad al-Khatib, despite their family closeness, neighborly relations, and good friendship.
