The Israeli Ministry of the Interior was moved to provide to provide permanent status to a daughter of a Jewish father and a Jewish grandmother who entered Israel with a tourist visa, which was extended from time to time over the years. The movant became seriously ill, was incorrectly diagnosed outside Israel and received medical treatment that almost caused her death. Her request for permanent status in Israel was rejected. The movant now requested permanent status for humanitarian reasons in order to continue the medical treatment she had in Israel after the initial treatment she took in Israel saved her life.

The Israeli Court ordered that because the life-saving medical treatment is not available outside Israel, Israel will afford the movant a permanent status in order to receive the required medical treatment. This decision was also influenced by the long period she stayed in the Israel before, the involvement in the Israeli society and the friends and family in Israel that can take care of her during her treatment.
